Roundhay Park, Waterloo Lake, woman in boat
1969.
Aboard a boat on the lake at Roundhay Park, a young woman is presented in a style characteristic of the era, and blowing bubbles. Boat trips were an early feature of entertainment provision at the Park, and despite several accidents in the nineteenth century (which were attributed to poor quality vessels and lack of safety awareness/equipment), boating continued on the lake into the second half of the twentieth century.
