Marshall Street, Marshall's Mills
17th August 1956. Marshall's Mills, on the West side of Marshall Street, showing the front of the offices and premises of Kay & Co. Ltd., mail order. The buildings are built of large stone blocks, with thick ornate pillars and decorative carving. A car is visible.

Memories
As a child I remember this building being known locally as Karnak Mills, as it was evidently designed upon Karnak Temple in Luxor, Egypt. There was also a story that, originally the mill roof was grassed and sheep grazed there - until one fateful day when a poor animal fell through one of the sky lights!
